Day #4

We woke up early this morning to get to Tokyo Disneyland before the crowds. I wasn't really all the excited to go to Disneyland only because I had been to the one in Florida so many times. It was a fun day but it wasn't at all different than the Florida Disney at all with the exception of the food and the people.

Rachel rented a wheelchair so that she could keep off her spained ankle for the day. This happened to come in real handy and we didn't even plan it that way. When one of the ride attendants saw that we were wheeling Rach into a line for a ride she got concerned and started chatting with Hope in Japanese. She wanted to make sure that Rachel was OK to ride the ride and that she wouldn't be hurt at all. Then she gave Rachel a card that we dubbed "The Gimp Card". It's pretty much like a Fast Pass except that we didn't have to wait in line once we came back to the ride at the time they told us too.....they would just bring us in the back way and cut all the other people in line. IT WAS GREAT!! We felt like celebrities going in the VIP way. They would even guard our bags and the wheelchair while we were on the ride. HOW COOL WAS THAT? So mental note for the next time I go to Disney....rent a wheelchair!! :)

In between rides (we were only allowed to sign up for one ride at a time with the Gimp card) we avoided the parades like the plague and shopped and ate, shopped and ate. We were exhausted by the end of the day but that was a good thing because that night we took an overnight bus to Kyoto.

The overnight bus left at 11pm and got into Kyoto at about 7am (need to check the times). The bus was kind of neat! It was a double decker bus. We were seated at the top. The seats were cushiony and were actually more comfortable than the airplane seats. The seats reclined back quite a ways, had a pulldown footrest and even gave us slippers to wear. The windows of the bus had little curtains on them so that you could pull them shut so as not to have any outside light disturb you. I was so tired that night that I slept pretty good on the bus. A little stiff but ok.
